Statewide

• Tracking a proposal to require licensed electricians to install things considered "low voltage." The proposal with this requirement has been rescinded because of advocacy work by organizations like HBADE, but the Board of Electrical Examiners is now considering requiring an inspection of low voltage installations.

New Castle County

• Tracking an ordinance related to parking reform.

Kent County

• Tracking process to adopt new building code. More information to come.

Sussex County

• Tracking updated comprehensive plan and rewriting the zoning code.

• DNREC-Remediation Section is currently developing a policy and standardized templates to streamline the review and approval process for the Brownfield/Remedial Investigations (BFI/RI) report and the Feasibility Studies/Focus Feasibility Study (FS/FFS). Effective March 2, 2026, all new BFI/RI and FS/FFS reports must be submitted as separate documents. This ensures that site characterization is fully reviewed and approved before the evaluation of remedial alternatives begins. If a combined report is already near completion, please contact the designated Project Officer for the site to request an exception.
